Hi, I'm Debbie Grobbelaar
I am the founder of Culture Zone.
My Mission
I founded Culture Zone to help organisations create healthier, more effective workplaces where people are aligned, supported and able to perform at their best.
Because organisational performance is shaped by far more than strategy alone. Leadership, culture and ways of working all influence whether people feel energised, connected and able to do meaningful work.
My aim is to help organisations strengthen the conditions that enable both sustainable performance and positive employee experience.

"The one important thing I have learned over the years is the difference between taking one's work seriously and taking one's self seriously. The first is imperative and the second is disastrous"
-Margot Fontain
My Approach
My approach combines evidence-based thinking with practical, people-centred action. Every organisation is different, so I work closely with clients to understand the realities of their environment, the challenges they are navigating, and the outcomes they are trying to achieve.
I’m particularly interested in the organisational dynamics that sit beneath performance, how leadership behaviours, culture, structure and ways of working influence collaboration, accountability, decision-making and employee experience.
My work is grounded in proven organisational development and change methodologies, but always tailored to the client context. The focus is not on theoretical models for their own sake, but on generating practical insight and meaningful action.
In leadership coaching, I draw primarily on the principles of the Co-Active Coaching approach, balancing support with constructive challenge to help leaders build self-awareness, confidence and effectiveness.
I believe meaningful change happens through honest partnership, thoughtful challenge and practical follow-through. My aim is to help clients create healthier, more aligned and more effective organisations, with outcomes that are sustainable, measurable and grounded in day-to-day reality.
And while the work is often complex, I believe it should still feel human. A sense of trust, authenticity and occasional humour matters too.
Be Real. Be a Trusted Partner.
Make an Impact. Have Fun.
